DJ MARCO ZAFFARANO
Minimalism Tour 98

Barutana (Kalemegdan, Belgrade)
May, 30th 1998

After success with Lady B's gig in Belgrade, Club Industria and Integra Productions are proud to present DJ Marco Zaffarano (MFS, Berlin), who will play in Belgrade's Barutana, a place situated in the ancient Belgrade's fortress Kalemegdan, supported by Integra resident DJs Sugar Daddy O., DJ Eye & DJ Mark Wee.

Marco Zaffarano was destined to be an entertainer. His illustrious career began with a passion for music when he was 15 years old, DJ-ing at a youth dance club in Stuttgart in 1987. Marco adapted his style to the changing face of dance music, playing the first Acid and Techno tracks he could find. His first DJ-ing offers outside of Stuttgart came only one short year after his start. Marco's natural talent and clean mixing style quickly earned him a large following. He accepted a residency at the renowned club OZ in Stuttgart in 1989.

As the German music scene developed Marco stayed on top. In 1992 Marco played at Omen, amazing the Frankfurt crowd. At the huge Union Rave in Dusseldorf he played along side Dave Angel, Sven Vath and Laurent Garnier. Marco's performance at MayDay IV was enormous. Marco had finally captivated a European audience.

Marco Zaffarano is not only an outstanding DJ but an accomplished producer as well. His first 12" titled Minimalism was produced with the German trance label Harthouse. Marco, and his partner at the time Juergen Kreschl, went on to create 4 singles for the Frankfurt based label.

In 1995 Marco left Harthouse for the influential Berlin label MFS. His first release, Pandora's Box, was an immediate success. For the MFS European Compilation he recorded the track Espana Z, contributing to an internationally recognized CD. In the MFS Tour in December 1995, Marco played along side other MFS artists such as Paul van Dyk and Mijk van Dijk in Prague, Budapest, Helsinki, London, Bilbao and Munich.

Marco Zaffarano has achieved a well earned and respected position as a producer and his high energy DJ-ing style has invited offers from around the continent. His CV contains classic clubs like: Mayday, Omen, and Dorian Gray (Frankfurt), Tresor (Berlin), Babalu (Munich), Club UK and Heaven (London), The Orbit (Leeds), Mellow Sunrise (Copenhagen) and Aquarius (Zagreb).

Marco Zaffarano recently released the album He Was Once A Beautiful Woman on MFS in winter 1996. From this album came the trance infused single Clown Confusion. In 1997 Marco Zaffarano´s second single The Band Remixes was released (incl. remixes by Way Out West, MicroBenics and Marco Zaffarano).

Both the album and the singles are a tribute to Marco's unique signature style, combining hard edged trance with mutable dance grooves. As with any artist so naturally inclined to create and inspire with music, there is no telling what the future holds...

Marco Zaffarano also realised his new 12" on MFS entitled Screamer, which contains legendary Harthouse's MZ5 track. On the April 27th his second album is out, also on MFS, under Minimalism title. It contains his recent tracks as well as his vintage stuff from Harthouse, known under MZ series.

Zaffarano's Belgrade's gig is part of his Minimalism Tour which includes 04.April Helsinki, 05.April Stockholm, 11.April Malta, 18.April Leeds, 25.April Kapstadt, 30.April Giessen, 01.May Marburg, 02.May Rimini, 08.May Berlin, 09.May Stuttgart, 15.May Dortmund, 16.May Achern, 17.May Frankfurt, 22.May Lörrach, 23.May Stuttgart, 30.May Belgrade.
