sweet dreams

The stuff dreams are made of. Shown below are two CDJ500II pitch bendable cd players, and MJ500 mixer, made to be used with CDJ equipment. The model numbers and photographs are from Pioneer's models because they seem to be most widespread. There are other companies making professional cd players as well.

Pioneer has recently come out with a new model - CDJ700 which does not differ much from the 500 models, except for the fact that it is half the weight and $120 more. Not many physical features were changed. Tempo maximum is increased to up to 16 percent. The equipment is capable of changing pitch and bending it, which means that when you speed up a song, you can adjust it so that there is no chipmunk effect. There are effects such as echo, reverb, flange, etc. built in the mixer, as well as two digital bpm counters. Using the equipment appears to be easy, and yet it offers so much. When purchased in a set, it comes with a nifty little case that contains everything you need to be as portable as a dj needs to be. Without the suitcase, this pleasure costs around $2000.

If you want to learn more about either CDJ or MJ, find out exact specifications, or learn more about how to get one, visit Pioneer's site dedicated to digital dj equipment.
