DJ Eye

Vladimir Ilievski

Eye came back to Belgrade from Sweden at the end of 1992 with a bag of about a hundred records, and teamed up with Mark Wee at Buha, the club where the Belgrade rave scene began. Where Mark Wee leaned to techno, Eye was the house DJ: deep and jazzy at one end, Chicago tracks and bouncing tech-house at the other. His Thursday house nights at Soul Food Cafe were among the most popular of their time, until the club ended his residency in mid-1994 on the grounds that house and techno drew a gay crowd, which says a lot about the time and the place.

He was a member of United DJs of Trance and one of the three founders of Integra Productions, with Mark Wee and S.T.R.O.B.. He was resident at Industria, where he and Coba ran the Percussivo nights, and at 4 Sobe, co-hosted Generator on Yu Radio, and played in Greece, in Budapest and in Moscow.
