DJ S.T.R.O.B.

Dejan Mirković

DJ S.T.R.O.B. is remembered as perhaps the person most responsible for the Yugoslav techno club scene. He started DJing on 5 April 1994 at Akademija, at "Trance Europe Express" with Mark Wee, and soon after began playing Sundays at Industria, a night of the week the club had never used. Mark Wee, Innvision and Eye joined him there, and together they became United DJs of Trance, the first DJ crew in the country, and later Integra Productions. On Yu Radio he had his own show, Pulsar, and after it was banned he co-founded Generator with Mark Wee.

His sound was optimistic and uplifting, mixing house, progressive, techno, trance and acid, and he played clubs and raves all over Serbia, among them Enlitement, Serbia Rave Today and The Prodigy concert. Ill with cancer, he played his last set at the Taurus party in Industria on 11 May 1996, the eve of his birthday, and threw his records to the crowd when it was over. He died on the night of 9 November 1996. More about him on the Integra site.
